Hi, my name is Jen, and I bought a vineyard two years ago. I am so excited to be going into my third season. I bought a vineyard because I knew I liked a good dry red, and truly, I was looking for land. Land to be more involved with rescue. My passion for rescue far outweighed my need for a vineyard. But, the perfect piece of property landed on my Trulia account. I thought, well, look at that—the land I need, the tiny house I envisioned, and it happens to be on a vineyard.
I can honestly say today that I naively bought a vineyard on a leap and lots of faith. I knew nothing about soil content, south-facing slopes, varietals—vinifera vs. hybrid grapes, grow lines, growing systems, pruning, harvest. I do today, and I am still learning. Yes, I love it. I love how vines tie into nature and spirituality. I love every synchronicity that has shown up to get me to my third season.
If you have been here from the beginning, it wouldn’t surprise you when I say all the pieces aligned—from the chef, winemaker, design crew, event planners, community from contractors, rescue groups, the mushroom lady (LOL, that’s how people know her here)—that showed up to make sure what we were creating here was possible. But, if you are new, welcome along.
My dream of being more involved with rescue is becoming a reality, and I want to share it with you. I want to share how I went from a corporate job in healthcare to being the owner of a vineyard and operating my own non-profit. How I built a community while doing it because they say it took a village; now it takes a vineyard. There are times when I feel I am paralyzed with fear, but with the right people in my corner, new and strangers, I have learned invaluable lessons along the way. Each one has shaped me, and just when I think I cannot take one more hit, the universe will show up in the most magical ways.
As we move into year three, please join us on our journey as we host events, dinners, parties, camping, nature hikes, healing gardens, and educate you on doing you just a bit better. Because we can all use a dose of better. Stay tuned as we relaunch our website and YouTube channel. As we at Endless Mountains Vineyards evolve, we want you along for the ride.
Following our project from renovations, adding a shop and wine tasting room connects you to the project as we build Camp EMV—future foster cabins for homeless dogs in transition. Camp EMV is where human well-being meets and supports animal welfare. Along with other local vineyards and wineries and the Penn State University viticulture program, we are assisting in creating an AVA (American Viticulture Area) to bring more awareness to the rich heritage and tourism the Endless Mountains Heritage region has to offer. I have so much love to give, and as we always say, B & Let Liv
